Before I begin this story, I need to confess that I am indeed a devout Christian man. I believe in the Bible and the Holy Trinity. I believe in forgiveness and not judging others. It is because of my beliefs that I find the subject of this story disgusting.

Christian missionary groups lined up outside of the biggest Muslim event of its kind in America. The groups shouted at passing Muslims as they entered the fair grounds for the annual Arab International Festival in Dearborn, Michigan on Friday.

Things came to a head when a group called the Bible Believers arrived with signs that read ‘Islam is a religion of blood and murder’ and ‘Muhammad is a liar, false prophet, murderer, child molesting pervert’.

Another offensive placard read: ‘Repent, be converted, that your sins may be blotted out’ and one missionary shouted ‘You’re gonna burn in hell’ to a group of Arab-American boys, according to Detroit Free Press.

The protesters even had a pig’s head on a stake, as Muslims are to abstain from pork. Many attendees found the pig’s head to be the most offensive thing that they saw. One attendee told us, “I cannot believe what these people are doing. Jews also abstain from eating pork as the Bible says that it is unclean. Why don’t these Christians follow their scriptures? They too should not eat pork.”

The area of Detroit has the greatest concentration of Arab-Americans in the country, many of whom are Muslim.

The event is currently in it’s 16th year and draws around 300,000 Muslims some coming from as far as the Middle East.

“Don’t these people realize that what they are doing only fans the flames of the radical jihadists?”, asked one man.

Wayne County sheriffs tried to keep the peace with officers on horseback patrolling the area, trying to keep the young Arab-Americans at a distance from the Christian missionaries.

At one point, some kids started throwing water bottles and cans at the missionaries.

Others chanted ‘Allah-U-Akbar’ or God is the greatest to which one of the Christians shouted in response ‘Jesus Akbar’, according to Detroit Free Press.

According to Detroit Free Press, a group of Christian protestors had bombarded the biggest mosque in Michigan, the Islamic Center of America, earlier on Friday and were handing out flyers on the mosque lawn.

One missionary told us the following, “It’s my right to be here and expose the lies of Satan. These people follow a pedophile! They are godless and we need to prevent more people from joining their movement. They want to destroy America and bring Sharia Law to this country.”

We approached a Muslim man in his early forties and told him about the allegations that the missionary made.

“These people simply don’t understand. They have been told lies about our religion. There is division, there are extremists. The same is true of Christianity. Many of us fled our homelands to avoid Sharia Law, it has been corrupted as many things often are.”
